Eva Dance, age 84 of Fayetteville NC slipped into eternity on August 26th, 2021 at 9:30PM in Morristown, New Jersey.
Eva was born on February 1st in Statham, Georgia to parents James and Ella Cox, the youngest of ten children. At an early age she joined and was baptized at Fairfield Baptist Church in Statham, GA. After the death of her father, Eva along with her mother, brother Chunk, and sister Emma, moved to New Jersey to be with the rest of the family. There is where she met and married her husband, Bernard Ralph Dance Sr. To this union was born Bernard Ralph Dance Jr. (Junie), whom Eva adored. Her son would bless her with two grandsons: Shaheed and Shideke Dance Parks.
Eva was a social butterfly. She enjoyed watching the horses race at the Meadowland Racetrack where she worked, and weekends in Atlantic City. Her family and friends will always remember her as a person with an infectious personality filled with life and laughter.
Eva is preceded in death by her parents, James and Ella Cox; her husband, Bernard Ralph Dance Sr. and her son, Bernard Dance, Jr.; two brothers: Nathaniel and Lenon Cox; and four sisters: Lula Espy, Grace Stephens, Mary Francis Jackson, and Thelma Teasley.
She leaves to mourn her two grandsons; two sisters, Alice Kee and Emma Harris; one brother, James Cox; two sisters-in-law, Jean Cox and Lorraine Dance; Two stepsons, Michael D. Dance and Ronnie Nix; one stepdaughter, Donna McCasline; great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Eva was loved by all who met her. Rest in peace dear one. We are encouraged by you and will see you again. Your presence will be missed. We lovely you dearly.
